The Bookworm of Winthrop University is getting a new name and a new location.

Starting in August, it will be the Winthrop University Bookstore at the DiGiorgio Campus Center.

"We're sitting on go," said store manager LeeAnne Johnson of the move that has been planned since January. University officials said the $29.4 million student center will open in August, with a formal dedication scheduled for mid-September.

The bookstore's move from the corner of Cherry Road and Charlotte Avenue to the new campus center means more space - from 6,000 square feet to 10,000 square feet - and a more convenient location for students.
